5 – 3″ Tapered Cover
The Atlas Cover takes the thickness of our 5 – 3” tapered cover, combines it with a 2.0 lb. density core, and reinforces the hinge with a galvanized steel channel. Because this cover can hold up to 1000# of static weight, we recommend it for areas in harsh weather climates.
Many other spa cover sellers offer a 6- 4” thick cover with a 2# density core. Every cover manufacturer we know says that’s an extra cost with no additional benefit. That’s why our 5 – 3” / 2.0 lb. density core, Atlas Cover is the best value available.
2.0 lb Density Cores
The higher the core density, the stronger your cover will be, and the less likely it is to crack or break.
If you get more than several feet of snow at a time, our 2.0 lb. density cores are right for you!

Optional Double Wrapped Cores
When a spa cover is made, the Styrofoam cores are wrapped in a layer of polyethylene plastic sheet for protection, and electronically sealed. The wrapped cores are then slid into the vinyl skin.
Over time, the single wrap protection breaks down and allows the core to absorb water. This happens so slowly you hardly notice it’s getting harder to open your cover.
With double wrapped protection, this process occurs slower, so your cover stays lighter – longer.
2 Vinyl Handles
With five layers of internal reinforcing, our recessed handles are engineered for strength and good looks.
The handles are conveniently centered at the front and rear of each cover.
4 Wind Tough Straps
Our triple-reinforced, wind-tough straps are standard, (not an upgrade) on all our covers, helping to keep your cover in place under normal winter conditions.
New safety clips are also included on your cover for the same standard price.
Full Length Heat Seal
The most common places to lose heat are at either end of the cover hinge or along the hinge itself.
Most manufacturers compensate by adding a small pad at either end of the hinge; then charge more for additional protection.
Our Optimizer and Atlas covers include a full-length heat seal to prevent leak points all along the hinge, not just at the ends. This saves heat, energy and money.
